On behalf of the Hong Kong Taekwon-Do Federation, I would like to express our deepest appreciation and congratulation to all the participants in the 14th Hong Kong Taekwon-Do Open Competition at 14 Jan 2007. Well over 180 participants were competing in the different categories of individual pattern, team pattern, individual sparring and team sparring. Great improvement were achieved since we have attended the International seminar and competitions held by the ITF Headquarter in the year of 2006. We are looking forward to seeing our Taekwon-Do athletes to be involved in the coming international games.

 

 

In addition to the regular competition, Hong Kong Taekwon-Do Federation has set up a special session for the disabled athletes to be involved in this competition. The performance of the athletes were so outstanding that all the audience were so pleased with them. Through this event we has proved that sports can help to put the disabled back into their normal life, re-establish self-respect, self-discipline and can help the disabled make the most of remaining physical capabilities.

 

Finally, we have to salute to our President Master Alfred Yu, all the umpires and volunteers to make the event a tremendous success.
